The experience of illness and the process of healing touch us all, body and soul, and Jewish tradition has a rich store of responses to physical suffering. Explore Biblical and Talmudic teachings about pain, comfort and resilience through creative, embodied text study – a dynamic method of learning that combines movement, writing and storytelling exercises with the study of traditional Jewish texts and images. Join us as we bring the texts to life and bring our lives and experiences into vibrant conversation with the texts.

Acting Up Stage Company's Canadian Premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical
Parade

We are very excited to be co-producing Parade with Studio 180 Theatre this year. Parade tells the true historical tale of Leo Frank, the only Jew to ever be lynched on American soil. Considered one of the most sensational trials of the early 20th century, the Frank case pressed every hot-button issue of the time: North vs. South, black vs. white, Jewish vs. Christian, industrial vs. agrarian. The musical recounts the press frenzy and public outrage surrounding Frank's trial and conviction, including his crusade for justice amid religious intolerance, political interference and racial tension.

Linked here, please find more information about our production, the acclaimed cast and our group packages. I look forward to making your acquaintance, and hopefully beginning a dialogue with you through Parade.
