Danforth Jewish Circle: Children’s Jewish Studies Program
Welcome!
We’d like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families to the Danforth Jewish Circle Judaic Studies program. The Education committee, Michelle Brown and Jason Leizer have had a full busy summer hiring many new staff, refining curriculum and launching our exciting new B’Nei Mitzvah program. Before continuing with information about class times, parent orientation, etc., please read a letter from our new principal, Michelle Brown.

Dear Jewish Studies Families:
Welcome to new and returning students and their families to another fabulous year at the DJC Children’s Jewish Studies Program. My name is Michelle Brown and I will be the Principal of the program this year. I have worked with the program for three years now as the Senior Kindergarten and Grade 1 teacher.
Jason Leizer, former Jewish Studies program Principal, has graduated with some of our students to the new and amazing B’nei Mitzvah program. Jason, will be a little less visible on campus this year, but is lending tremendous support for the coming years.
We have been fortunate enough to receive generous funding from Mercaz, formerly, the Board of Jewish Education.
We are pleased to say that in our aim towards excellence, we are offering a family education initiative, also made possible by the generous funding provided by Mercaz. This program has been initiated in an effort to bring adults and children together in an educational setting. Our objective is to create an opportunity for quality time and joint learning. Additionally, we would like to strengthen the learning community of the program with this new effort. Our program will include such activities as a Family Tu B’shvat seder, a family educational Purim shpiel and others.
Your child’s teacher will be calling you to say hello to their future students and discuss various program details. We are asking that each family contribute some volunteer time towards our special program. Your child’s teacher will discuss this opportunity with you. Check the newsletter for upcoming events such as our annual Parent Orientation where we can address any of your questions. Look forward to seeing you in October.
I bid you all a Shana Tova!!!!
Regards,
Michelle
