THE DANFORTH MULTIFAITH COMMONS

The Danforth Multifaith Commons, also known as the DMC, is a community hub comprised of Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist Congregation, East End United Regional Ministry, and the Danforth Jewish Circle. The creation of this unique group facilitates interfaith engagement and collaboration. We provide a space for people of different faiths to come together, exchange ideas, discuss matters of spirituality, and promote understanding among diverse religious backgrounds.
Together, we host events and activities to foster an environment of respect, dialogue, and cooperation, contributing to the broader goal of interfaith harmony.
Our partnership does more than give each community a financially sustainable, shared home at 310 Danforth Avenue. It illuminates the promise of what people of different faiths, but with similar values, can learn from each other and achieve together. All three communities embrace people of all backgrounds and identities and share a strong commitment to social justice. Members of our communities have collaborated for years– for instance, through our communities’ social justice and environmental action committees, and the East Toronto Multi-Faith Community, which includes members of the Madinah Masjid and others.
