Exciting New High Holy Day Initiatives

As we approach the final gorgeous days of summer, preparations for Rosh Hashanah on September 13 – 15 and Yom Kippur on September 22 – 23 are in full gear.  With the ideas and efforts of our members, working alongside Rabbi Miriam and Cantor Lisa, you’ll see a number of exciting developments this year:

  • A redesigned, highly participatory family service for all ages of children and their families, led by Rabbi Miriam and Alan Gotlib.

  • A new, volunteer-developed High Holy Day supplement of readings with wisdom from a wide range of sources – secular, spiritual, intellectual, and poetic.

  • Newly hired, skilled, and energetic members of our youth leadership team who will bring our Youth Programs and Teen Discussions to life.

  • A new Ne’ilah service (the final service of Yom Kippur), integrating musical offerings by members, meditative silence and reflection, and full-voiced song and prayer. It won’t be your bubbie’s Ne’ilah!

  • An exciting array of community-led learning, discussion, and experiential sessions on Yom Kippur afternoon.

Register before September 9 to take advantage of reduced rates.  And if you know anyone who might not be able to afford full membership, encourage them to reach out to info@djctoronto.com.

We can’t wait to see you at the High Holy Days!
