“WHAT DO WE LEAVE? NOTHING MUCH — ONLY ANATEVKA — ANATEVKA!

Who could forget those haunting lines from the Broadway musical and award-winning film, “A Fiddler On The Roof“?

At the DJC we are sponsoring a Syrian-Kurdish family of seven (a mother and father and five children); who we hope to see in Toronto this year. As we prepare for their arrival it reminds us of our roots and our great blessings as Canadians. Moreover, how simple and meaningful it can be to prepare a home for the homeless.

We still need a few final items: – drinking glasses – large pots – large mixing bowls – dish drainer – grocery cart/bundle buggy – shower caddy; – some cleaning equipment (broom and dustpan, mop, plunger)

If you can donate any of these items or if you’d like to join our growing team of volunteers, let us know by sending an email to: djcSocialJustice@gmail.com.   Thanks for your interest. Posted by the DJC Social Justice Committee.
