November’s Board Message

It is 5778 and the DJC’s annual calendar of activities is in full swing! We have moved through the High Holy Days, welcomed friends and the harvest in the Sukkah, sang and danced for Simchat Torah, begun Rabbi Miriam’s Radical Wisdom Workshops, and embarked on training more ritual leaders. We have also strengthened our multifaith and cross-cultural relationships, beginning the educational series for Jewish communities to learn about Indigenous issues, and joining together with other faith communities on the Danforth for a “Chew on This” walk to bring awareness to poverty and hunger.

So, how are we doing?

As Josh, the Chair of our Board, mentioned on the bimah at High Holy Day services, we want to get to know you better. We want to know in what ways the DJC has been, or not been, the Jewish community you are seeking. We want to know how we can do better to meet the needs of you and your families and to honour the different ways that you “do” Jewish. Please stay tuned for the survey that will arrive in your inboxes soon.

In 5778, may we all be seen, heard, and engaged.
