Your support is needed!

Food Bank Donations at our High Holyday Services

Every year at the time of the high holidays, the DJC launches a food drive to support the Bethany Church Food Bank in our Riverdale ‘neck of the woods’. Before services, we come to Eastminster bearing food offerings and place them in the bins set out in the front lobby so these donations can be delivered to the food bank, not long after the last shofar blast at our concluding Ne’ilah service.

The DJC is continuing its relationship with the Bethany Church Food Bank. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated by the 200+ local families who depend on the food bank every week. Please bring your donations to any of our High Holyday services.

  • Canned fruits and vegetables, canned protein (meat, fish, beans, etc), and supermarket gift cards for the purchase of milk and fresh produce are always needed.

  • Toiletry items and any other staples are welcome as well, particularly feminine hygiene products and adult diapers (size L/XL). They are not currently in need of baby food.

Donating Online

If you wish to donate online to the Bethany Church Food Bank, instructions are below.

Here’s how your donation can make a difference:

To sponsor a week of soup: $100 To sponsor a week of pasta or eggs: $200 To sponsor a week of adult diapers: $200 To sponsor a week of soap: $220 To sponsor a week of baby diapers: $240 To sponsor a week of toothpaste: $300

All donations are welcome, regardless of amount!

Please help to ensure this year we are thinking of those who regularly go without and rely on the support of their local food bank(s). And thank you in advance for your generosity!
