Masks for All!

There are many things the DJC is doing to help our community at this difficult time. As part of a community, it’s the responsibility of each and every one of us to prevent transmitting the virus to others. We realize, however, that not everybody has easy access to masks, which are recommended at this time for everyone in order to protect OTHERS from possible transmission by the wearer. That is the reason that the Threads Project is spearheading a new initiative to provide masks to any and all members of our DJC community who may need them. We have a team of volunteers ready to sew masks for those in need. A number of volunteers have donated cotton fabric from which to fashion the masks and we also have volunteers to deliver the masks should the recipients be unable to pick them up.

We are not charging anybody for these masks as our priority is to ensure that all who need the masks have easy access to them.

Should you feel that you would like to make a donation to the DJC to help ensure, in these uncertain times, that the DJC has adequate funding to continue to provide all the wonderful programs and services it offers, may we suggest a donation of $18 (chai). Some of you may want to donate for a friend who would not be able to afford a donation right now. We do want to make it abundantly clear to everyone, though, that you need not feel obliged to make ANY donation.

Although we have a strong team in place to provide this service, if you would like to volunteer to sew masks, cut fabrics for the masks, provide cotton fabric, elastic, wire or plastic-covered paper clips to be used in making the masks or help with delivery of masks, please send an email to info@djctoronto.com and let them know how you would like to help. We will produce the masks as quickly as possible and get them to those who need them in a timely fashion

We will get through this difficult period and are very pleased to support members in this way in order to keep all of us safe and healthy.
