This is a pivotal time to contribute your skills and creativity to strengthening the DJC. Along with the Rabbi and the staff leadership team, Board members provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure the health, vitality, organizational effectiveness, governance, and financial stability of the DJC. Board members are appointed for 2-year terms and can serve for a maximum of 3 consecutive terms. Candidates must be DJC members with the desire to lead the DJC into its next phase.

This year we are looking in particular for three new Board members with experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing, human resources, governance, finance, strategic thinking and group facilitation skills. We are particularly seeking new Board members who represent the diversity of the DJC. We encourage all members to apply, especially those from groups underrepresented on the DJC Board, including racialized communities; 2SLGBTQ+ communities; young people; from diverse Jewish traditions; interfaith/intercultural families; and persons with disabilities. Serving on our Board is a meaningful (and fun!) way to contribute to the DJC community. The Board meets monthly for 2 hours, holds two Board working retreats each year, and Board members participate on one or more Board committees, working committees or ad hoc tasks (or all of these!) which is typically an additional 10 hours per month. Please use these forms to nominate yourself or nominate another DJC member by September 15, 2022.
