Starting a conversation on Anti-Racism

During the afternoon of Yom Kippur the Social Justice Committee led an interactive discussion and learning workshop on “Identity, Oppression and Racism — Starting the Conversation”. Over 30 people participated on Zoom.

The session kicked off with a very informative and provocative presentation made by long-time SJC members, Lynne Raskin and Eve-Lynn Stein. They posed very interesting questions that were discussed in smaller breakout rooms and then brought back to the larger group. The intention being to start the conversation at the DJC and keep it going and evolving beyond discussion to meaningful action too.

If you would like to join us in future conversations email us at: djcsocialjustice@gmail.com and please put “anti-racism” in the email’s subject title. You can also view and download this Anti-Racism Resources document that was shared at the meeting, plus visit the TEAM Facebook page (TEAM=Toronto East Anti-Hate Mobilization); an anti-hate group which some of our social justice committee members have been involved in.

Join us in helping to fight racism and oppression.
