We can’t all be Greta Thunberg, but your choices have a ripple effect

Greta says that our climate actions send messages to others and encourage governments to take action. We know our DJC community is concerned about the climate crisis and, as a community, we can make a difference by taking both individual and collective action.

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) stressed that individual action, plus collective action, is required to mitigate and prevent the worst potential climate change impacts. The impact of individual actions is even greater in areas with higher wealth and higher consumption lifestyles.

Perhaps you’ve been taking steps at home to reduce your carbon footprint. Have you read books on climate warming, listened to podcasts or attended educational webinars? Have you had discussions with family and friends? Have you signed petitions? Have you written letters or called politicians? Have you joined with other groups to take action or participated in a climate strike?
