CREATING EID GIFT BASKETS FOR NEWLY ARRIVED SYRIAN FAMILIES

  • Jun 1, 2017
  • 1 min read

Our DJC Multi-Faith Committee is currently working on preparing and delivering Eid gift baskets for some newly-arrived Syrian families [including the family we are sponsoring] who are celebrating their first Ramadan and Eid in Toronto.  This is the second year we will be doing this very heartwarming and fun project. (Read about last year’s inaugural delivery)

We are looking for volunteers to help us pack and/or deliver these gift baskets on June 23rd and 24th as well as people who wish to donate funds to buy goodies to fill them.

The baskets will be assembled on June 23rd between 12:00 and 4:00 pm and distributed by small groups of volunteers from 4:00 — 7:30 pm and again on Saturday, June 24th.  If you are interested, or know someone from another East-End faith community who might be interested in helping out, please contact us.   The DJC’s Mult-Faith Committee works alongside members of Christian, Muslim, Unitarian, and Buddhist communities in the East End of Toronto.
