As you have no doubt been reading, Fort McMurray is under siege as wildfires burn incessantly, prompting the largest evacuation in Alberta’s history.  According to news reports, the fires have now consumed more than 10,000 hectares. Homes have been destroyed in many neighbourhoods, and up to 80,000 people have left the city.

Please consider a commitment to helping others and DONATE TODAY.

Ve’ahavta has been in touch with various officials to determine where we are best able to help.  The funds will be distributed where they are most needed, to be determined as the situation evolves.  We will report back once funds have been distributed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people of Fort McMurray.

Thank you,

Board of DirectorsGary Samuel, Chair; Anthony Alberga; Tom Chervinsky; Bernie Farber; Mark Fox; Philip Goldband; Norman Levine; Bev Margolian; Jordana Ross; Benjamin Shinewald; Ira Teich; Larry Zimmerman
